After its introduction and relative success of the first generation, Toyota went to work and in 2003 the second generation of Toyota Sienna was released as a 2004 model year, and this time, the wheelchair van conversion manufacturers jumped at the chance to convert a new vehicle for wheelchair access. This was a fresh, new option in the wheelchair accessible vehicles market which had been dominated by wheelchair accessible minivans made by Dodge, Chrysler, and Ford. Consumers took notice and solidifed the Toyota Sienna as a great wheelchair accessible van option.

Third Generation    (2011-2020)

Continuing its rise in popularity, Toyota really hit a home run with the third generation of Toyota Sienna, released in 2010 as a 2011 model year. With the most spacious interior, great standard features, and classic Toyota reliability, this was clearly the best Toyota minivan yet. And wheelchair van customers took notice as well, with the Toyota Sienna soon becoming one of the top selling wheelchair van models. In this generation, Toyota introduced a lot of upgrades such as electric power steering and a new 8-speed automatic transmission, as well as a bevy of safety technology for the Sienna, including blind spot monitoring, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, and automatic high beams.
